ELEPHANT WALK PENDANT

A quatrefoil or clover—a classic design shape—is thought to represent faith, hope, love, and laughter. The elephant symbolizes power, wisdom, strength, and general good luck. This lovely statement pendant is approximately 4-in. long x 2-in. wide (including bail and charm).
Students will Learn: A cubic right-angle weave (CRAW) technique to create the double-wide clover shape; use peyote stitch to bezel a rivoli; embellishment techniques; and how to make a bail and drop.
Prerequisites: Experience with CRAW and peyote stitch. Skill Level: Intermediate.
Kits will be available in 3 colorways: White/Gold; Turquoise/Gold; and Cobalt Blue/Turquoise

Kits include 8/0, 11/0, 15/0 seed beads; 11/0 cylinder beads; 3 mm fire-polished crystals; 4 mm Swarovski crystals; 12 mm Swarovski or Czech glass rivoli; and Howelite elephant charm.
LESLIE VENTUROSO WORKSHOP
OCTOBER 31 - NOVEMBER 4, 2019
Leslie Venturoso will be teaching five fantastic projects she designed. All classes will be held at the Designing Women Boutique in Sarasota, FL. Leslie will also be our guest speaker at the Bead Society meeting at the Waldemere Fire Station on Monday evening, November 4, 2019, at 7 PM. She will have a trunk show/sale of her kits, and there will be a reception in her honor following the meeting.
Leslie is an accomplished bead instructor who honed her teaching skills as a designer and instructor for Crystal Creations Bead Institute/Beads Gone Wild in West Palm Beach, FL. She has ventured out on her own in order to establish herself in the beading universe. Leslie’s work has been featured in Beadwork Magazine, “Contemporary Geometric Beadwork, Vol. 1” and BeadWork Creates Beaded Rings. She has been selected to teach at Bead and Button and Bead Fest.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION & POLICIES
Registration will open to Members Only on June 3, 2019. The classes will be held in Sarasota, FL from Thursday, October 31, through Monday, November 4, 2019. Class times are posted with each class description. The classes will be held at the Designing Women Boutique Conference Room – 1226 N. Tamiami Trail – Sarasota, FL 34236.

The Bead Society is subsidizing workshop costs for our members in order to provide the classes at the very affordable price of $35 each. **Note: If you are not a member and sign up for a class, we will void your registration and refund your payment less a $5.00 processing fee.**
There is a 20-person limit per class – enrollment is on a first-come basis.
Starting on June 3, 2019, only Current FWCBS Members may register and pay for the workshop by adding the class(es) of your choice to the shopping cart. You may also register by downloading, printing out and completing the Workshop Registration Form and mailing it with your check to the Workshop Registrar (name and address are on the form). You have the option to register and pay at a Bead Society Meeting. The fee per class for current members is $35. Kits are extra and will available for purchase at the class. Colorways and kit prices are posted below with the class information. A material lists for each project will be provided to registered participants who wish to bring their own beads.
CANCELLATION POLICY: · Effective October 1, 2019, a 10% cancellation fee will be deducted.
· Effective October 14, 2019, a 20% cancellation fee will be deducted.
· Effective October 24, 2019, a 50% cancellation fee will be deducted.

ZIG ZAG IT BRACELET

Make a fun and colorful cuff using the peyote stitch in a Rick Rack technique.
Students will Learn: How to create a Rick Rack style cuff with wings using peyote stitch and a modified right-angle weave to start the band; learn how to read a pattern.
Prerequisites: Experience with peyote stitch. Skill Level: Intermediate.
Kits will be available in only 1 colorway (as pictured).
Participants may purchase one kit at the discounted price of $65.
Included in the kit are 11/0 cylinder beads, 11/0 seed beads and a magnetic clasp.
Saturday, November 2, 2019 - 1 to 6 PM
Light up your wrist with this delicious Bubblelicious Bracelet. Wear tropical rainbow bubbles or sparkling champagne bubbles—it’s happiness on your wrist everyday! Each component is made using peyote stitch and right-angle weave. The kit contains enough materials to make 2 extra peyote rings if needed for wrist size.
Students will Learn: How to bezel Swarvoski rivolis and chatons using peyote and right-angle weave stitches. They will also learn how to make a peyote ring; connect all the elements in a pleasing pattern and add a clasp.
Prerequisites: Peyote stitch and right-angle weave stitch. Skill Level: Advanced Beginner.
Kits will be available in 5 colorways: Gold Rainbow, Silver Rainbow, Tri-Color Gold, Acqua/Silver (Blue/Teal/Lavender), and Sorbetto/Gold (Pink Peony, Peach and Sunshine)
